Session Title: Academic Writing: Language and Style

Abstract

As researchers, we spend years of our life building our research. But then when it comes to academic research writing, many of us still struggle. Writing your research effectively is one of the critical steps in getting your paper accepted.  The proposed workshop intends to train participants in developing the proper style of writing which constitute the indispensable part of a research and its publication. Further, the resource person plans to use hands -on training for proper selection of words and effective arrangement of ideas and logical development of paragraphs. Thus, the workshop aims to help the participants enhance the quality of their manuscript by bring precision, accuracy and coherence.

About Dr. Pushp Lata

Prof. Pushp Lata has been associated with the Department of Humanities and Languages, Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani since 1994. She did her PGDTE from EFLU (earlier known as CIEFL), Hyderabad and Ph.D. from University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, India. She is an avid researcher and has been working in the fields of English Language Teaching, Computer Mediated Language Learning and Teaching, Syllabus Designing and Designing Teaching Materials for both Classroom and beyond Classroom teaching. She has got 52 research papers published in various anthologies, national and international journals. She has co-authored fifteen books for the reputed publishers of India like Oxford University Press and Prentice Hall of India. She has delivered talks and lectures on Effective Communication, Managerial Communication, Innovative Pedagogy, Flipped Classroom Teaching, Soft Skills and Group Discussions and Job Interviews. Prof. Lata conducts workshops and training programs for students, teachers and corporate professionals.
